Introducing The Fareham Town FC Lottery

We have recently had Fareham Town FC begin their Sports Club Lottery fundraising journey. Our team cannot wait to work with the club and help them reach their fundraising goals! We spoke with Paul, to learn a little more about Fareham Town FC.

Please tell us about Fareham Town FC

Fareham Town were formed in 1947 and began our life in local leagues. We rose to the Southern Premier League but in recent years have returned to play in the Wessex League Premier which is two divisions lower. Fareham is a community club and a friendly, safe place to watch football. Come for a few weeks and you’ll soon feel part of the Creeksiders’ family.
We also run a reserve side and are associated with youth sides for both boys and girls.

Where do you see the future of the club?

Recent changes in the management structure of the club have resulted in an improvement of our fortunes, both on and off of the pitch. We are now competing at the top of the table. We would like to keep this momentum going and hope to win promotion back to the Southern League.

Our recent improvement in form has been followed by a great improvement in our attendances. Our ground is dominated by a large stand which can accommodate around 400 supporters. Unfortunately, this has been the only cover available at the ground other than one area set well back from the pitch so supporters have had little choice but to brave the elements. The days of fans being prepared to do so are long gone.

How will Fareham Town FC’s lottery help the club?

The lottery will help us to build some cover behind the goals. Our previous fundraising has provided one such shelter at one end and now we plan to do the other.
The money raised by the lottery will be ring-fenced for this purpose, it won’t be part of the club’s budget.
